Are you planning to take the IELTS test?

"I like to practise on my own. Or I get my friends and family to help me. Either way, I am pretty sure I can get the IELTS score I need."

While some students feel comfortable preparing for the IELTS reading, listening and writing tests themselves, others feel less confident when it comes to the IELTS speaking test. Some rely on those close to them for the speaking practise they need.

If you have friends and family who have the time, patience and English ability to help you improve your speaking skills, then that's great because you truly are in the best possible situation. Others though might not be so lucky.

For those who don't have friends and family to offer support, there are of course lots of truly excellent IELTS groups on the Internet (WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.). Students meet, chat, and successfully develop the fluency they need to get the IELTS speaking score they require. But while they are developing fluency, they might not be helping each other develop accuracy.

Unless you are sure you are practising with a group of excellent English speakers, it might just be that you are reinforcing each others' grammar and vocabulary mistakes. Additionally, if you are practising with partners from the same country, you might be reinforcing each others' pronunciation issues.

Practise for the IELTS Speaking Test Online with a Native Speaker

If you are serious about improving your IELTS speaking score you should consider practising online with a qualified (native English) teacher who is experienced in helping IELTS students achieve the speaking scores they require. offers a unique service that allows you to work individually with a teacher who will focus on your issues and help you develop your speaking ability.

What's service?

You spend one hour on Skype with your teacher answering the types of questions asked in Phase One and Phase Three of the IELTS test. You also get to practise talking for between one and two minutes on topics similar to those presented in the IELTS test.

What are the advantages of's service?

Working directly with a teacher you might feel less inhibited than when speaking in a group. This means you are more likely to try harder and get the speaking practice you need. You will also feel less concerned about making mistakes - and making mistakes is key to improving your English!

You will receive:

  • general advice on how to approach the speaking test and what you should do reach the score you need
  • immediate feedback on grammar and pronunciation issues
  • advice on how to 'upgrade' your English using the phrases, phrasal verbs, and idioms native speakers might use to convey a message more clearly
  • a written record of your recurring mistakes and how to correct them.

How do I know this service is any good?
